Sometimes knowing the right idiom can be a matter of life or death. If something is about to hit someone, or something dangerous is about to happen, you have less than a second to say the right thing and save that person from harm. The short and useful phrase you need is look out!
When you say look out to someone, it makes them stop what they are doing and look around and be careful. If someone is about to walk in front of a bus, you would shout look out to stop them.
Of course, look out can be used in less serious situations too. For instance, if you throw a ball at your friend and it’s about to hit him in the head, you could say look out and he might notice the ball in time to catch it.

A cookie is something sweet and tempting. So it makes sense that
the slang term “cookie” is used to talk about attractive young women.
But what about a tough cookie? That sounds a little less appealing.
A tough cookie is a person who is strong and determined. Tough cookies usually get what they want because they refuse to compromise or give up.
A real cookie that’s tough is hard to chew. In the same way, sometimes a person who is a tough cookie is difficult to deal with. Actress Ashely Olsen, who’s best known for playing Michelle Tanner on Full House, says she and her twin sister, Mary-Kate, had to deal with a lot of tough cookies
when they were trying to break into the fashion industry. A lot of the
other designers they met didn’t believe they really had the talent to
make it in the world of high fashion.
But Ashley and Mary-Kate must be tough cookies themselves. They
made a risky choice by trying out a new career. Then again, they
probably had a lot of help from their rich and famous friends. So maybe
they aren’t tough cookies after all.

Amy says that she has road rage. If you ever see her in a car, it would be best to stay out of her way.
Driving can sometimes be a frustrating experience, especially if there
is a lot of traffic, or if you’re surrounded by bad drivers. Some
drivers turn their frustration into road rage. They yell, honk, or make rude gestures at other drivers.
Road rage is an especially big problem in Los Angeles, where everybody
has to drive everywhere because the city is very spread out and
connected by freeways. People spend so much time speeding from one place
to another, or stuck in traffic, their road rage often gets out
of control. Drivers in LA have a reputation for being extra aggressive.
So it’s not surprising to learn that Amy didn’t discover her road rage until she moved there.

Those rumors make David very angry. He says it makes his blood boil when people say he cheated.

lot of ways. She’s ahead of the game in her career, since she is
one of the most successful and famous American actresses. She’s ahead

having a family, being married with twin babies.
But in spite of all her success, Julia is pretty modest. She says she
rarely spends much time on her looks and doesn’t have much of a beauty
routine. For her, just brushing her teeth makes her feel like she is ahead
of the game. It’s easy to be ahead of the game if you have
low standards!
If you are ahead of the game, you’re doing really well at
something. Being ahead of the game at something is like being on
top. You’re so good at whatever game you’re playing, your practically ahead,
or in front of it. You’re so smart and fast, the game has to try to
keep up with you!
Being ahead of the game isn’t always easy. What do you do to stay

Most husbands don’t need to pick up their own wives. That’s usually something you try to do with a stranger you’ve never met before. When a guy tries to pick up
a girl at a party, he goes up to her and starts talking to her, and
tries to be as charming as possible. If he succeeds, he might get her
phone number or convince her to go on a date with him.
Simon Baker, who stars in the The Mentalist, says he still feels like he’s trying to pick his wife up.
But that doesn’t mean that they don’t know each other. It just means he
still feels nervous around her sometimes, and wants to impress her.
